The Mac Trek
Youth in and from care are invited to experience the wilderness in honour of our friend, Mac (1998-2015). Mac was a young man in care who showed immense compassion and shared a positive attitude with everyone he met. To carry his memory forward, our friends at Momenta (experiencemomenta.com) host canoe trips where young people can find a connection to wilderness and friendship.
The canoe trips are open to youth in and from care, ages 12 to 17. To help keep participants and staff safe and healthy, instead of a week-long overnight trip we will be having day trips this summer.
This year, The Mac Trek will take place August 6th – 7th, 2025 from 11am – 4pm.
There are 9 spots available for youth participants who are 12-17 years of age and who are, or have been, in care.
