FAQs FOR VOICES MOVE

What is happening?

As of March 27, 2026, Voices: Manitoba’s Youth in Care Network, will move offices from our current location at 61 Juno St. in Winnipeg to our new host location, The Link: Youth and Family Supports, at 175 Mayfair Ave. in Winnipeg.

Will this affect any of Voices’ programs and services?

Although there will be a physical transition of offices, there will be no disruption of services to any of Voices’ current programs. In addition, our mission and vision remains the same – the wellbeing of youth-in-care, and our Voices alumni, is our top priority. And as always, you can contact Aerynn (aerynn@voices.mb.ca), Mary (mary@voices.mb.ca), or Daniel (daniel@voices.mb.ca) if you have any questions. Or contact us by phone at 204-982-4956, or toll free in Manitoba: 1-866-982-4956.

What services can I access at the new Voices location that weren’t available at the old location?

Our bright, spacious new office, located at The Link building (175 Mayfair Ave.) directly offers Voices youth and alumni access to The Link’s publicly available programs and services including mental health and primary health care, crisis support, and other community-based programming.

What about the youth programs I used to attend at the old Voices office?

Our new location means we will have enhanced room for the youth programming that you may already attend, including EmpowerU, Voices workshops or other activities. In addition, we will have increased space to do meal preparation and to store donated items for young people including clothing and hygiene products.

And, being located at The Link will create more opportunities for Voices to build our community via increased youth engagement.

What about Boys and Girls Club (BCG) Winnipeg?

BCG Winnipeg, which was the former steward of Voices: Manitoba’s Youth in Care Network, will continue to provide their regular programming and services for children and youth across the city at the current location at 61 Juno St., along with its other locations. Voices would like to thank BGC Winnipeg for hosting us for the past 27 years.

Who is the new steward?

Effective April 1, 2026, Voices: Manitoba’s Youth in Care Network, will be transitioned from stewardship under the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg (BGC Winnipeg) to the stewardship of the General Child and Family Services Authority (GA).

What does it mean to be under General Child and Family Services Authority stewardship?

The GA’s role is to provide advice and guidance to assist Voices in fulfilling its mission and purpose; to empower and support youth in and from care across the province. The role of the GA is to build on what BGC previously provided and help launch a new phase in Voices’ journey, with the goal of Voices becoming an independent, not-for-profit organization.

What if I have questions/concerns?

We realize this is a big change, and it may be unsettling, but we want to assure you that our programs and services will remain the same. And, as always, you can reach out to the Voices team if you have questions via our phone line or social media.
