2024 Spring and Fall Retreats Volunteer Adult Supports
We are currently seeking volunteer adult supports for our 2024 Spring and Fall Retreats. As an adult support, you are a role model who brings positive energy to the workshops and activities of the weekend.
Volunteers serve as room captains, small group leaders, and provide a safe contact for young people over the course of the weekend.
To volunteer, you will need a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry check, the cost of which is covered by Voices during the volunteer application process.

We’re always on the look out for amazing alumni of care and adult allies who are fun, creative, and have a few hours to share with us! Here are some ways you can be involved:
Alumni of Care: Sometimes, once you’ve been out of care for a while, you feel drawn to reach back and help someone who’s still in the thick of it. Alumni of care over the age of 24 are invited to volunteer as one-on-one mentors to youth ages 12 to 18, or as part of an adult support team at our activities and retreats.
Volunteer Grandparents: All new parents have questions about raising their child. We’re looking for ‘grandparents’, people who have raised children and have advice and support to give based on their experience. Mentorship will take place at activities geared towards young parents in and from care.
Advisory Committee: The Voices Advisory Committee meets monthly to provide advice and feedback to Voices staff. Committee members include youth in and from care, child welfare professionals, and allies from the community.
General Public: You want to help, and that is awesome and appreciated! Let’s talk about your hobbies and skills, and find where you fit!
If you’re looking for a meaningful volunteer experience, please give us a call at 204-982-4956 or toll-free across Manitoba: 1-866-982-4956 or email ask@voices.mb.ca
All potential volunteers must complete the BGC Winnipeg volunteer application process before they may begin to engage with participants. To volunteer, you will need a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry check, the cost of which is covered by Voices during the volunteer application process.
